Part Seventeen

“So that’s why she wouldn’t talk to me. She thought that I would go to one of her friends.” I looked at Audrey.

“Yeah, that’s part of it. I don’t know the other part. The whole Ike situation took me by surprise.” She stood up.

“Do you think she would tell Tay anything?”

“There’s a chance. But I can’t confirm that. I don’t see why she would up and tell Taylor?” She was right, but there’s always that chance.

“True, but I really want to know and I won’t talk to her myself. I can’t even look at her picture with out having nine million different feelings run through my veins.

“I know how you feel.” I looked at her funny.

“What do you mean?” Here I was talking about me, me, me, and she has a problem of her own. I hate doing that to people.

“Oh, it’s nothing.” So looked down at the ground.

“Come on, I’ve told you all about my situation. I think I owe it to you to let you bitch about whatever.” She stood up.

“Let’s walk.” She started walking. I quickly got up and followed her. “Well I was going out with this guy Dave. We went out for 2 years. Well just a couple months ago he ended it. I knew it was coming up and all, but I found out why.” She paused for a second. “He was cheating on me for about 4 months with my best friend’s sister. I didn’t know what to say. I was shocked. He was a good guy and he always said he loved me. I couldn’t even look at a guy anymore without being afraid of being hurt.” I didn’t know what to say. She had gone though something that I was going though now. She really did know how I was feeling. “That’s why now I’m so into doing gymnastics. It helps keep my mind off of him.”

“I’m sorry, I had no idea you went through all that.” I looked at her. “At least now I know I have someone who has gone through the same thing as myself.”

“Yeah. We’re twins.” She giggled. “Don’t worry though. I’m sure you’ll be able to recover. Come on look at me I think you’re hot so I’m back on track.” He both laughed some more. “Well I better get back to Randi, she probably thought I got hit by a bus or something.”

“Alright, I’ll talk to you later okay.”

“Yeah, here’s my number.” She scribbled it down on a piece of paper and handed it to me. Then she took off towards Randi’s house. I stood there for a minute looking at her number. I didn’t want a relationship with Audrey. All I wanted was a friendship. I smiled to myself and continued home.

“What are you so happy about?” Ike saw me coming down the street.

“Oh nothing.” I smiled and walked into the house. “Hey Tay. Are you ready for an exciting day?” He looked at me dumbfounded. “Talking to Randi day.”

“Oh yeah. I’m ready, whenever she is.” I could tell he was kind of nervous.

“Well she went home so call her up and ask to chat. If she asks why, just say it’s important. If she asks for me I’m not here because I’m going to return these videos.” So I left and he just picked up the phone. Well I pretended to leave. I had to hear their conversation. I picked up the phone and made sure it was on mute.

“Is Randi home?” He was nervous.

“This is.” There was a short pause. “Tay is that you?”

“Yeah, it is.” He had no idea how to do this. I wanted to smack him because this wasn’t that hard to do! I would do it but I hate the bitch!

“What do you want?” She seemed curious, yet annoyed. Tay was silent. I wanted to yell at him because he’s not being smooth at all. “Did Zac put you up to this?” She wants to die.

“I just wanna talk to you.” Tay finally said something. “Would you mind if we met up and talked for a bit?” I could hear Audrey in the back round say she had to go to the store to return some videos. She was listing in too. Note to self-meet her there.

“I guess. Where do you want to meet?” She didn’t want Audrey to leave, but she got screwed!

“Go to the coffee shop on third in ten minutes.” Tay actually got a grip and was doing this.

“Aright, see ya then.” She hung up. I quickly grabbed the videos and left myself. I ran part of the way so Tay wouldn’t see me leave or anything. As I was heading up to Blockbuster I saw Audg go in.

“Audrey!” She turned around and smiled.

“Hey you, returning movies too?” She waited for me catch up.

“Of course.” We went in and returned them. “I wonder if they have any good ones on sale?” I looked around at the ones they had out.

“Don’t they always.” She paused; I could tell she wanted to say something. “You know Tay was talking to Randi before I left.”

“Yeah I was listing.” I had to laugh. She did too. “I just hope whatever it is, she says it to him.

(I didn’t want to go to Taylor’s point of view for this part, but it would of made it too hard not to. So this is Tay thinking and speaking now)

I got to the coffee shop and looked around for Randi. I was really nervous and I have no idea what to say. I saw her approaching from down the street. I could feel my stomach turning as I could make out her facial expressions. She had no smile and just a blank stare. Not a good sign. “He Randi.” I opened the door for her as we went into the coffee shop. We got in line and I ordered us something to drink. I paid for it too. I was trying to gather my thought so I could talk to her but I didn’t know what to say.

“So what did you want to talk to me about?” She broke the silence as we sat down. I looked her straight in the eye. Deep down I knew she was feeling something.

“Zac.” I had an idea of where to go with this.

“What’s there to say, I mean I have no idea what to do? I hope I didn’t destroy his relationship with Ike, did I?” She looked with hope that she didn’t.

“They’re fine. Zac forgave him after a couple days. You’re the next thing on his mind. He wants you to talk to him or at least give him a reason.” I stopped there. I wasn’t sure if I was helping or making things worse.

“What does he want to know exactly?” She set her cup down.

“Why you took advantage of our brother.” I tried to stay calm and not raise my voice but I was really curious too. She took a deep breath.

“I’m going to tell you this but you can’t tell Zac.” I was about to protest but she kept going. “I would like to tell him myself.” She took a deep breath again. I could wait for her to tell him, as long as he didn’t have to wait to long. “That night I was bothered enough as it was. Michelle and Rachel were in town and we have a long history. So the times changed and I thought if they came now things would be different. We could be like we used to. Be the Three-Musketeer’s. I would be able to show off my boyfriend, Zac, and be like I got the best boyfriend in the world. I would be able to compare their lives with mine and we could laugh and have a good time. It didn’t go that way. They were just hung all over the whole Hanson thing. I saw one of them on Zac that night and I was just really jealous. So I got really trashed to get ride of that feeling. I saw Ike and how he was all retarded himself and was like, well I wasn’t thinking. I was horny, lonely, jealous, and just needed to get the crap feeling out. I thought at the time Isaac could do that. So I did it, I well yeah. I know I’ve ruined the relationship now. He will never be able to love me like he did and it’s all my fault.” She had tears in her eyes. I just sat there and looked at her, “Can you say something?” She almost jumped out of her seat. I knew that’s how she thought Zac would take it, well that’s if he didn’t go insane yet.

“Well you cleared everything up for me. Now all you have to do is tell Zac that. He really wants to know.”

“I know I have to tell him but I can’t bring myself to talk to him. I feel extremely bad. I feel like I’m being eaten alive by guilt.” I was about to say something and she knew exactly what. “No.”

“But if you…” She stopped me.

“If you tell him that would be even worse. I swear if you say anything I will kill you. I will tell him, I promise you. But you have to promise me you won’t say a thing. If Zac find out form you he will be even more crushed than if I tell him.” She looked straight into me eyes. I felt like she just jumped inside my head. “Promise me.” I couldn’t say no.

“Alright, I won’t say anything to him.” I wilted like a flower. I need to gain some courage, I’m a pussy.

“Alright, I should get going, I don’t want Audrey to wait to long.” She gathered her things and got up. “And by the way, thank you.” She kissed me on my cheek and left. I left as well. Zac would be hounding me once I step in the door.

(Now I'm back to Zac's point of view.)

Audrey was busy looking at the new releases while I looked to see what they had for sale.

"Do you want to rent Pearl Harbor and watch it with me tonight?" Audrey waved the movie in my direction.

"You're not hanging out with Randi tonight?" I thought they were always together. Plus I wanted some details for what Randi would say to her.

"Well she was going to go out with her mom tonight because they haven't done anything together in a long time. She offered for me to come along but I told her I would stay in and rent another movie for tonight.

"That would be great, but do we have to rent that movie?" I gave the 'oh please help me god' look. Pearl Harbor is a long 3-hour movie that I really wouldn't want to sit through for a third time. "The first two times were fine but another, I don't think I can handle it."

"Come on it was a good movie, but if you don't want to see it that much then I guess we can get a different one." She put it back on the shelf. We browsed for about 5 more minutes before deciding on Dude Where's My Car. Good movie. We left Blockbuster and went down the street to get something to drink. We saw Tay and Randi as we were leaving. "Do you want to go talk to him?" Audrey stopped in her tracks and looked at me.

"Not now, later." I was in a good mood and I didn't want to ruin it.

"Are you sure?" I nodded my head. We entered the coffee shop and got something to go. We didn't want to go back to Randi's so we decided we would watch the movie at my house. "I'm going to call Randi and let her know I'm not coming home." She dialed her number. "Hey Ran, it's me." I could hear Randi's voice through the phone. I could feel the hurt run through my veins. "Yeah, I'm not going to come home till late so don't worry about me. No I found some friends her that I haven't seen in a while so we're hanging out tonight." I couldn't tell if she was lying or kind of telling the truth. I mean she hasn't really hung out with us in a while. "Yeah, I'll see you later tonight. Alright, love ya, bye!" She put her phone back in her purse.

"What did she say?" I couldn't make out the words she was saying while I listened.

"Just that she talked to Tay and why I wouldn't be home and blah, blah, blah. You know how she can ramble." I smiled a little.

"Did she say anything specific?" Now I was curious.

"Not really, but she said we would talk tomorrow. I guess you'll just have to wait." We walked to my house. When we got there Ike's car was gone. I unlocked the door and let us in. Tay had his stereo on in his room. He was listing to Britney Spears. One his ex-girlfriends songs. I couldn’t help but laugh at his lack of self-control. He needs to talk to Angie again and go out with her. There’s a winning girl if you ask me.

“Why is he listening to Britney? I thought he didn’t like her?” Audrey seemed surprised.

“Well you can thank his ex-girlfriend for doing that to him. I liked her and all, but come on, Angie is here and now. Speaking of Angie, I haven't seen her around in a while." Shows what I know. No sooner do I say that she comes out of his room with a big smile on her face. I was a little curious of what went on in there. "Well speak of the devil." She stopped in her tracks.

"Zac, I didn't know you were home,” She looked at Audrey with an odd expression on her face. “And with another girl.” I don't think she remembered Audg.

"Oh Angie, this is Randi's friend, Audrey. We're going to watch a movie later."

"Oh, Randi's friend. Nice to meet you." She smiled.

"Well actually I'm her cousin, but we're just like friends. She was going out tonight so I said I would hang out with my friend." Awkward silence. "Why don't you and Tay watch the movie with us?" She nudged me.

"Yeah, we got ‘Dude Where's My Car’." I held up the video.

“Sure, I’ll let Tay know.” She went back to his room and shut the door. We just went into the living room.

“I’m scared.” I looked at her. “What if Randi and I are done for? What if this is the end?” It was my first relationship. My first for a lot of things.

“Don’t worry. Maybe she’s just having some sort of internal problem and was just not herself. You know she loves you and always will.” She looked me straight in the eyes. “And if this is the end, you will love again.” Tay and Angie came in at that moment.

“Is this a bad time?” Tay had confusion written all over his face.

“No.” Audrey just sat down.
