Part Four

“Hi.” The glitter on her eyes sparkled. She had a light green sundress type thing on.

“Let’s go.” I locked the door and we walked to a nearby ice cream parlor. I paid for our ice cream and we ate it on a picnic table. I don’t really know what to say. I felt like an idiot.

“So have you lived here your whole life?” There’s a winner.

“No, I moved after in 6th grade.”

“Where did you move from?”

“Michigan.” She took another lick of her cone. “Wanna start walking home?” She looked at me.

“Sure.” We hopped off the table and headed back to my place. The sun was just setting. It was the perfect evening. We got on my front porch. “Would you like to come in?” I could tell she was getting excited again. This was probably her dream come true.

“I’d love to.” I opened the door and let us both in. I could tell Tay was home because his shoes and coat were right by the front door. I glanced over at the T.V and could see his reflection in it.

“Hey Tay, could you come in here a minute?” Randi got all giddy. Tay peaked in and noticed I had a friend over.

“Oh hi, sorry I was just cleaning up. What’s your name?” Tay shook her hand. He’s so fake sometimes it makes me sick.

“I’m Randi. Would you mind if I got a picture?” She fumbled through her purse and pulled it out. I took it and snapped a pic of them. No wonder people like him, he can act so perfect when needed.

“It was nice meeting you Randi.” He signed something for her and disappeared.

“It was great spending time with you, but it’s getting late and I don’t want to get in trouble.” She was looking at her watch.

“Yeah, maybe I could see you again sometime?”

“Yeah, that would be great.” She blushed.

“Would you like me to walk you home?”

“No, I’m fine.” She almost snapped at me. “I really need to leave.” She smiled and left.

“Would you like to explain that?” Tay appeared again.

“Explain what?”

“Bringing strangers into our house, that’s what.” He just wants to get into a fight.

“She’s my friend.” Even though I’ve only known her for like three hours, that still counts.

“Oh bullshit. You’re just trying to make me look bad in front of other people and you know what I’m not going to stand for it.” I hate when he makes up crazy shit to blame on me.

“If you’re allowed to bring your slutty-whore girlfriend in the house then I can bring who ever the hell I want to in here! This is not just ‘your’ house, it’s ours.” He was pissed because he never lets anyone say anything bad about his girlfriend. I hated her so she deserves it. He walked right up to me and punched me in the nose.

“That’s it, your hit.” I tackled his ass to the ground and started punching him. I am stronger than him so I can usually keep him down. He got out somehow thought and pushed me with all his might. I went backwards and tripped over a wire. I fell right through the bay window. Ike just was pulling up into the driveway and ran over.

“What happened!?!” Ike was going to kill us. Tay came outside.

“We were fighting.” Tay said with a straight face. We were both bleeding. This was the first time we ever got into this physical of a fight. If mom found out she would kill us.

“God damn it you two. Look what you did. Not only did you kill each other, break the living room window, and make complete jerks out of yourselves, but also you betrayed one another. You are brothers not enemies. Grow up.” I looked up at the house, at Tay, and then at Ike. My self-esteem went down. “Start cleaning up this.” Ike picked some big pieces of glass up and then went inside to call a window company. Tay and I finished picking up the rest. My nose hurt really bad and it looked funny so Isaac took my to the hospital to get it checked out.
