Part Five

“Well Zachary, I hate to tell you but your nose is broken.” The doctor x-rayed it and all. “Just keep this on it and come back in about three weeks.” Great, three weeks with this thingy on my nose. I’m so excited.

“Alright, thank you.” I faked a smile and we left. Ike didn’t say anything on the way home. We all conjugated in the living room for a talk.

“Alright you two. You might not agree on something right now, but no more of this. Tay you broke his nose!” Ike was really pissed. “I want you to apologize to each other right now.” We both looked up from the floor.

“I’m sorry Zac.” He actually sounded sorry too.

“I’m sorry too.” I felt bad as well.

“Okay can you two not kill each other while I go call mom? Good.” Ike went in the kitchen and called her.

“I’m sorry for saying those things about Jackie, I didn’t mean it.” I tried to patch things up.

“Don’t ever say anything about her again.” He had an evil look in his eyes.

"Zac mom wants to talk to you.” Ike handed the phone to me. “I told her you tripped and hit a pole okay.”

“Alright. Hi mom.”

“Are you okay dear?” Sometimes she worries too much.

“I’ll be fine mom. The doctor said I should be good in three weeks.” Now for the hard part.

“What happened?” Oh boy.

“Well I tripped over a crack in the ground while I was walking and hit a pole on the way down.” That’s the stupidest reason I have ever given. Thanks Ike.

“You poor thing! Would you like me to fly over th…”

“Mom. I’m 15, I can handle it.” I think she forgot I grew up.

“Alright sweetie. Well is Tay around?” Just then he came back into sight. He was probably listing to our conversation.

“Yes, here he is. I love you, bye.”

“I love you too dear.” I gave Tay the phone. I feel like I live in a Soap Opera. Note to self, never watch General Hospital.

“Okay, lets get ready for bed. We have to work tomorrow.” Ike was starting to sound like our dad rather than our brother. I got up and went into my room. I put my pj’s on and took some Tylenol. My nose was killing me. I got into bed and just laid there. I wasn’t tired so I was staring off into space. Then I heard something by my window. It sounded like some one was trying to break in. I grabbed something heavy and that would hurt if stuck by it. The person got into my room and I flipped the light on. “Don’t move or I’ll start swinging!”

“Tay! It’s me!” She squealed. Jackie.

“I’m not Tay, you got the wrong room.” I glared at her. “You do realize people need sleep so the can work or is that to much for you to comprehend?”

“Excuse me. Geeze, did you take your Midol today?”

“I should you ask you the same thing.” I swear if I could make her disappear I would.

“Funny. Where’s Tay room?” She demanded. I wanted to slap her but I can’t hit girls. Wait she’s not a girl she’s a beast.

“Last one on the right.” I pointed down the hall. She whipped her hair at me and went to his room. At least she didn’t say anything about my nose. I turned my light off and crawled back into bed. That made me tired so now I was ready to sleep. I slept for like forever. I woke up to the birds chirping and people mowing their lawn. I looked at my clock. 12:17, shower time.

“If it isn’t Mr. Sunshine.” Ike teased as I entered the bathroom. The hot steamy water felt good all over the crevices of my body. I scrubbed the dirty feeling off with a sponge and got out. I dried myself off with a towel and put a fresh pair of clothes on. I went out to where Ike was.

“When are we going to the studio?” Ike looked up from his writing.

“When Tay gets back.” He looked back down.

“Where did he go?” I figured he was still sleeping.

“Apparently something happened between him and Jackie so he went off early this morning.” Ike took a sip of whatever he was drinking.

“Well do you know what happened?” I almost hesitated to ask.

“Nope.” I really don’t think Ike cared.

“Well then I’m just going to roan around outside then.” Ike wasn’t really paying attention. I think he was working on a song or something because his guitar was right by him. I was able to walk around out side with no fans to harass me. It was something I haven’t been able to do in a long time. I guess it was a good thing coming here early because no one, well almost no one knew we were here. I was just walking along and Randi popped into my head. I haven’t seen her in a while. I figured if I walked around for long enough I would run into her. I walked around for about an hour and I hadn’t seen a trace of her. I gave up because I figured maybe Tay would probably be home by now.

“Where have you been?” Tay jumped down my throat.

“I was out, but shouldn’t I be asking you the same thing? I had to wait for you to come home so I went out for a little to pass the time.” He’s pissed they must of broke up.

“Maybe we should just go tomorrow Tay. You seem a little distracted today.” Ike could tell too.

“No. We ate going and we are going now.”

“Then I’m driving.” Ike took the keys from him and went to get his jacket.

“Fine whatever, les go.” There’s something you should know about Taylor. The way he gets over his problems is playing music. So this is probably is the best thing for him right now. On the ay to the studio there was nothing but silence. You could cut the tension with a butter knife. When we arrived ad the studio Tay practically ran in the doors.

“We should ask him what happened.” I wanted to know what happened.

“No.” Ike almost snapped. “That would make him even more pissed. We have to wait until he calms down.” Ike was right.
