Part Eight

“Hey Ran, what’s up?” It’s been a few weeks. My nose isn’t broken anymore, thank god. I had to make up stuff to keep Tay’s and my little feud a secret. We were home last week so we just came back this week. We have picked our songs we want for the Cd and have everything worked out. We are in the process of recording all the songs for the final copy. Then we will hit the stores and go on tour. For now, I just want to talk to my girlfriend Randi.

“Hey hun. I just got out of the shower. So what do you have planned for today?”

“Nothing yet.” I looked out our window in the living room. I saw a familiar face coming out of the house across the street. I knew that girl from some where but I couldn’t place where. Then it hit me. “Angie.”

“Excuse me?” I forgot I was on the phone.

“Sorry. Remember that time at the beach when we met those two girls, Sarah and Angie?”

“Yeah.”

“Well Angie just walked out of the house across the street from us. I’m going to go say hi. I’ll call ya back.” I don’t know why I wanted to talk to her so bad but I did.

“Alright, call me back in ten. I gotta dry my hair.”

“Alright. Bye.”

“Bye hun.”

“I love you.”

“I love you too.” She hung up. I opened the door and walked out side. She was just sitting on her porch.

“Hey Angie.” I walked across the street.

“Zac?” She pulled her sunglasses off. “Is that you?” She seemed some what shocked.

“Yeah, I take it you remember me from the beach.” I sat down next to her. “I didn’t know you live across the street from me.”

“Yeah I didn’t know that either. You know that Cd of yours you gave me. Well I took the liberty of listing to it and I loved it. I guess my friend Sarah was right about you guys.” She smiled.

“Really, well music is music, but good music is hard to find.” Then I saw Tay coming across the street towards us.

“Zac what did I say about bothering the neighbors?”

“Tay this is Angie, Angie this is Tay.” I think something sparked because they sat there for a second before acknowledging anything.

“Nice to finally meet you.” Angie stood up. “I met Zac a few weeks ago at the beach. I’m glad I did.” They were locked in each other’s eyes.

“Well nice to meet you too, but I have some stuff to do. Maybe I’ll see ya around.” He started back to the house and turned around. “If you ever need anything don’t be afraid to call.” He flashed his heart melting smile and went home.

“Well I take it you’re a Taylor fan.” I nudged her.

“Funny. He’s cute yes, but I don’t know about anything more.” Her face was pink from excitement though. She wants him, hard-core.

“You know you want him. It’s so obvious. I saw the way you two looked into each other’s eyes. I’m not dumb.”

“Sure you are.” She sat back down. Then her phone rang. “Hello. All right hold on a second. Sorry Zac but I have to take this call, but I’ll see ya around.”

“Okay, see ya.”

“Bye.” I went back home. I went to find Tay.

“So what do ya think of her?” I pulled the Kool-aid out of the fridge.

“Who?” He was playing dumb.

“Duh, Angie. I saw you checking her out, not that I blame you. You know she became a Hanson fan because of me. I meet her a while back and gave her our Cd. She’s really awesome.” He wants her.

“You know her? So that’s why you went over there isn’t it?” Tay took the Kool-aid from me.

“Yeah. I met her when Randi and I went to the beach that one day. Angie and her friend Sarah were there. I was talking to them and when I saw her today I thought I would say hi. She told me she really liked our Cd. So now she’s a fan. I could have us get ‘together’ some time if you want.”

“Well, we could do something like that. But what about Isaac?” Tay looked puzzled.

“It’s not like he can’t get a girl himself.” I teased.

“I hear talking about me.” Ike showed up. “Anything juicy I should know about?” He got a glass for some Kool-aid action too.

“Nothing, we are just going to invite so girls over to have a party.” Tay glanced out the window towards Angie’s house.

“No big deal.” Ike muttered.

“We were thinking who else could we get, well other than that group of guys from the studio?” I was thinking more girls.

“Well I know a few people. But the thing is when would we have this?” Ike actually was considering this. He must be in a good mood.

“Well we could have the weekend after this one. We could even perform and maybe have some other people do the same. Like the people from the studio.” Tay set his glass in the sink. This was going to be fun.

“All right, we can start making a guest list for people we want there.” Ike ran off to get some paper.

“This is going to be fun.” Tay had a devilish smile on his face. We started planning for this. We all called people and even took the clubhouse in our housing complex to hold it in. We made a guest list of alt least a hundred. We got some of the local people to play too. So next weekend was our weekend. Instead of calling Randi, I decided to tell her in person. I wanted to see her smile again.

“I’m going over to Randi’s, I’ll be back later.”

“Alright.” Ike nodded me away. He was on the phone with some friends of his that he met over here. I walked to Randi’s house and knocked on the door.

“Hello?” It seemed to be her mom who answered.

“Hi, is Randi home by any chance?” I politely asked.

“Yeah I’ll get her. You may come in if you want.” I stepped into her house. I took off my shoes because I didn’t want to get her carpet dirty. Her mom went up stairs to get her I presume. I sat down on the couch and looked around. To the left was a kitchen and a laundry room. After the kitchen and straight ahead was a family room. Out the window, I could see a trampoline out back. There was a hallway to the right of me with doors on both sides. At the end was a bathroom. It was a nice house. I figured she was an only child since no other people seemed to be around. Just then her mom came back to me. “She’s up in her room, she asked for you to come up.”

“Oh all right, thank you.” It seemed a little weird but I guess her mom didn’t mind. I went up the stairs that were behind one of the open doors. I heard music from her stereo. It was us, Hanson, our This Time Around Cd. I almost started to sing it. If Only is a lot of peoples favorite songs. It grew on me.

“Zac, come on in.” Randi stood up and motioned for me to come over. She had a few other of her friends over. I recognized Audrey.

“Hi Audrey.”

“Hey Zac.” Her other two friends looked surprised.

“Zac this is Britney and Natalie.”

“Hi.” I stuck my hand out. I guess they didn’t believe it was really me. It must be a girl thing.

“Wow, you really are Zac Hanson.” Natalie managed to get out.

“You didn’t believe Randi knew me?” I found that quite amusing.

“Well no, not really.” Britney stated.

“Well I know Randi. I better, she’s my girlfriend.” They almost peed their pants. It was quite funny. So-called famous people do go out with normal people. Some people have it in their heads that if you’re famous you can’t date ordinary people. Well we do. Well I do at least. Tay and Ike, before Jackie and Lisa, went out with the girls from M2M. The truth is that they didn’t click together. At least when one of you isn’t always gone you are able to have a bendable schedule. You both aren’t always gone.

“You two are going out?” Natalie’s eyes were popping out of her head. I couldn’t believe Randi didn’t tell them.

“Randi didn’t tell you?” I looked over at Randi.

“No, they never asked if I was going out with anyone so I didn’t tell them, yet.” She smirked. At least I know she can keep a secret.

“Hey Audg,” That’s her nick name, “how’s gymnastics going?” I remembered she takes classes.

“Good, really good actually. I get to try out for the Olympic team for the next Olympics. I am so excited; you have no idea what an honor that is. If I make it I will have the chance for a gold medal.” I had no idea she was that good.

“Wow, that’s awesome! How come you didn’t tell me before?” She obviously didn’t tell Randi.

“Well I forgot. When they told me this I got so wrapped up in the excitement, I forgot I had to tell you.”

“Oh, well you have to tell me how it goes and all that when you try out. This is so awesome!” As they kept talking about that I checked out her room. Her walls were a pale pink with what seemed to be little flowers on them, a typical girl color. There were posters of Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Hanson, Lance from N’Sync not the whole group, her friends, and some art pictures that she made on the ceiling. All of her walls weren’t covers, just different spots for each group. Her bed was in the corner by a window. She had a few stuffed animals arranged on the pillows. She had a vanity set next to her bed with makeup and things on it. Then her closet was on the wall facing her bed. By her stairs was her hamper and a little table, which had books and work on it. Probably school things.

“Zac.” I wasn’t paying attention to them.

“Yeah?” I snapped back into it.

“What were you looking at?” Randi asked.

“Your room.”

“Well we all want to go to see a movie, wanna come?” I remembered then what I came here to ask her.

“Sure but I have to ask you something first. Next weekend we are having a party, would you, all of you like to come?” Britney and Natalie seemed nice and I already knew Audrey.

“Sure.” They all said.

“Alright then, what movie are we going to see?”

“Shrek.” Britney pointed out. “It the computer animated movie with the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz.” I remembered seeing commercials about that movie. It looked really good.

“Cool, I wanted to see that movie.” So we all headed down stairs. “How are we getting there?” I looked at them.

“I have my license, I’m driving.” Randi showed me. “I just got it yesterday.” She smiled.

“Awesome.” I had been too busy to worry about driving at the moment, but I would get my license sooner or later. We all got into her mom SUV. Her mom didn’t mind at all. We got in and there weren’t to many people there. We sat in the middle. The seats were nice and squishy. I like it already. Randi was on the left side of me and Natalie was on the right. Britney sat next to Natalie. The movie was really good. Shrek was an Ogre who lived in a swamp. (I don’t want to give away the movie if you haven’t seen it) He did all this junk and blah, blah, blah. It was really funny. My favorite character was the donkey. He was hilarious. After the movie got out it was about eleven. We went back to Randi’s house. Her friends were spending the night there.

“You can stay here for a little bit if you want.” Randi offered.

“Alright, I have nothing better to do at home.” We all went into the back yard.

“Lets play on the trampoline.” Audg suggested.

“All right.” Randi hopped on. This wasn’t a normal size trampoline. It was huge! Their back yard was pretty big so they could fit in back here. It was big enough for like fifteen people. We had plenty of room to jump around. So we did that until twelve thirty.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“12:30.” Britney checked her watch. I didn’t know if we were going to the studio or anything tomorrow so I thought I should leave.

“Well I better get going then. I might have to work tomorrow.” I jumped off the trampoline. “It was nice meeting you two.”

“You too.” Britney and Natalie said back.

(This part is best read when listing to Sydney Forest's - Once in a blue moon :)

“I’ll walk you out.” Randi jumped off. We walked to her front porch. “If you’re not doing anything tomorrow wanna stop by?”

“If I have nothing to do, I’d love too.” I grabbed her hand. We stared into each other’s eyes for a minute. The moon was lighting up the sky and the stars were shinning brightly. Just then a shooting star zoomed across the sky. “Did you make a wish?” I asked quietly.

“My wishes have already come true.”

“And what would that be?”

“You.” She smiled. I leaned in close and kissed her. It was the perfect kiss. Nothing could ever destroy it. We broke free and I left. I felt like I was in a movie. Everything had just fallen into place. I would remember that night forever.
