Part One

The next day came and Mish was wide-awake and awaited the arrival of the big huge Hanson bus that will pull up in front of her house to take her away. She was extremely nervous and excited and full of the jitters. Not to mention the boys either. They felt the same way. Thankfully it was a nice summer day when this was happening. Right when Mish started to settle down, the bus comes right to her house. She was in shock. Someone knocked on the door and she just sat there. She was too excited to move. Then she realized the Hanson boys were doing the knocking. She got up, contained herself, but she could not go to the door without a huge smile on her face with her heart going one hundred miles per second.

“Hi!” Mish greets them with almost a squeaky voice.

“Hi, I’m Zac and I will be your tour guide for the next week, so pack your stuff and come with us”.

“My name is Michelle.”

“I am Isaac and the one hiding behind me is Taylor”

“Shut up, it was just standing here.”

“It’s okay, I won’t bite.”

“You might not but Zac might.”

“Oh Ike-poo, just wait, I’ll get you.”

Well with all the hello’s said, they brought her stuff onto the bus and they were off to where the boys lived, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The bus was pretty cool. There was a little living room area when you got on, with a T.V and video games and all that type of stuff. Then there were all the beds. There were about 24 or something. Well it was a lot. Then there was some stuff in the back. Other than that, it was a pretty normal bus. They all went out driving towards Oklahoma, to spend the week with the lucky contest winner, Michelle.

The next day they got up and they were in somewhere in the lower part of Indiana. Since they still had a while on the bus they decided now was the time to get to know each other. Since Michelle knew almost everything that she really needed to know about the boys, they were asking most of the questions.

“Well I’m in high school now, 11th grade, I go to South Lake High. My best friends are Dayna, Christine, and Kobby. So what else do you want to know?”

“When is your birthday? Mine is October 22nd.”

“I am older than you by one month and nine days. My birthday is on September 13th, and being the lucky child I was, I was born on was a Friday. Now that is my lucky day, along with the number 13.”

“Really? That is really cool. I was born in March. I am about two years older than you.”

“Yeah, I hated having my birthday right in the beginning of school because it was right when school starts and I really can’t do too much at school. I like my birthday anyway though.” She stated. “Also I am on the wrestling team. I have a lot of fun trying to beat the guys up. I’m not to good yet, but by next year, I will take them all down.” She smiled. The boys were a little shocked.

“You wrestle guys? Wow, aren’t you afraid of getting hurt?” Tay didn’t think she was a wrestling type.

“I was afraid at first but now I have to kick ass. They are hard to beat. My friend Kobby is on the team too. We wrestle with each other too. It’s a whole lot of fun.”  Basically the whole day was like that. They talked about a lot of pointless stuff, but they all seemed to get along well together. Michelle was treasuring these moments because it will be the only ones she will have. The guys enjoyed it to because for once they did not have to do most of the talking. The bus was heading home and they were almost there. It would take probably about four or five more hours to get there. They should arrive home at around eleven or midnight.

All of them ended up falling asleep before they arrived at the Hanson house. The bus driver had to wake them up. “Hey kids! We are home!”

“Okay, thanks.” They all yelled. They got all their stuff they needed off the bus so they could spend the week here. Once they got all their stuff in the house, everyone went straight to sleep. Michelle slept on the floor in their room.

At about ten o’clock Michelle woke up. The boys were still sleeping but she could hear the others of the house were up and making breakfast. She went out to introduce herself. She fixed her hair though because her hair is really wild in the morning.

“Hi, my name is Michelle and…”

“Oh! You must be the contest winner. I am the boy’s mother Diana and we are so glad you could come. I am making breakfast, would you like some?” Diana cut Michelle off in the middle of her sentence.

“Sure, that would be great.” Michelle realized that she was glad to see some new faces around. The breakfast she made could of feed and army of three hundred though. Taylor was the first to slump out of bed and join the others for breakfast, followed by Ike and then Zac. They all ate until they were full and then got ready to go rollerblading that day. Michelle wasn’t as good as them at skating because she was more of a leisure rollerblader than a serious rollerblader.

“Watch this!”

“Taylor stop showing off.”

“Oh shut up Ike, you’re just jealous because I can do that and you can’t”

“Oh yes that’s me, extremely jealous. He is trying to show off in front of you.”

“That’s ok, if I could do that, I would too.” Mish was impressed anyway.

So that day was full of rollerblading and laughing. No one is perfect so they did their share of falling. They all were home in time for dinner where they had a nice juicy steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Michelle felt just a little out of place because at her house there was a very different atmosphere and she wasn’t a religious person. She doesn’t go to church, she really has no religion at all and she has to switch her actions in a way so they don’t think less of her because of the way she usually acts. It worked because none of them could tell that she was feeling out a place or that she seemed to be acting weird.

“So Michelle, where are you from?” Walker asked.

“I am from St. Clair Shore Michigan. It is just north of Detroit. It is a cute little area. I really like it there, but it’s not in the ghetto.”

“So you go to public schools then.” Mom asked.

“Yes, I love going to them because it gives me a chance to make friends and have somewhere to go almost everyday. Even though I hate the homework and don’t do it half the time, I still have fun.”

“You don’t do homework?” Walkers asked a little curiously.

“Not exactly. You see we have different ways of doing things around there. Let me explain. I know it’s not right, but we copy homework from our friends and cheat on tests and things like that. But I try not to when I can do it.” That was awkward to Mr. Hanson. They would never do anything like that.

“Don’t you get in trouble?” Zac asked.

“We do it so the teachers and our parents don’t know about it. I know it might sound weird to you but it was the way I was brought up. In public schools you learn different things rather if you were home schooled or in a private school. If you came to our school, you would be extremely surprised at the type of things that go on around there.”

“So you cheat on your homework and tests and that’s how people pass school.” Ike stated.

“Well no, that’s not how it goes. You have your group of friends and if you have the same class and one of them forgot or didn’t finish or something like that, the other person let’s them copy. You don’t do it all the time unless you’re a loser and have no life. You only cheat on a test if you need the grade or because once again you are a loser. I have done it before, but I try to do everything myself. That is why I do get good grades. If you went to our school and were a student, you would understand a whole lot better.”

So basically Michelle and the family talked about school the whole time through dinner. When they were all done, Michelle helped clean up and then went in the boy’s room to go talk to them.
