Part Two
Tay was sneaking Jackie into our bedroom.
“What are you doing?” I interrupted them.
“Voting, what does it look like?” Tay snapped back.
“If mom saw this she…”
“She won’t find out now will she?” Tay gave me an evil glare and looked at the door.
“You have an hour.” I slammed the
door on my way out. He will never get it. That bitch only likes him because
he’s famous. She’s broken up with him 7 times, don’t you think he would
learn? I should say something. I do all the time actually, but he is just to
ignorant to listen.
“Where are you going?” I turned
around at my mom’s voice.
“Just out to out tree house.” I
love it there. It’s a great place to just be alone. The fans had cleared out
so no one was camping on our lawn tonight. I climbed up into the little house
and found things the fans threw up here. How they did that, I have no idea. We
installed alarms in our trees so the fans, the crazier ones, couldn’t steal
anything. How they got passed it, I
don’t know. I found a stuffed dog that was really cute and a letter that had a
rose attached to it. Those die hard fans are so funny. Not to seem rude but
I’m only one person, I can’t date 3 million girls at once. I opened the
letter and read it.
Dear Zac,
I ran into you or should I say you ran into
me today. I couldn’t help but think about you all day. I am a really big fan
of you guys. I found the swarm of fans and found it was your house. I wrote you
a letter to thank you for the autograph. It will be my best memory ever. I love
your music, your style, and of coarse you three. I can’t wait until I see you
again in concert, so keep up the wonderful things your doing.
Love always,
Kirsten
I felt so many emotions running through
my body. It wasn’t just the letter it reminded me of so many incidents that
have happened in the past. Like the time one girl jumped up on stage and kissed
Tay, or when the three girls wrote Ike, Tay, and Zac on there butts and mooned
us. Why it triggered all this was a mystery to me. Then I thought about Kirsten.
She was pretty, but the thought of turning out like Ike and Tay right now
wasn’t what I wanted. I’ll stick to being single for now. I lay on the cool
wood and stared up into the night sky. It was a clear night so I stared at the
stars. I drifted off to sleep some time because I woke up there the next day.
I’m surprised no one else noticed I wasn’t in my bed. I sat up a little and
felt the pain from lying like that all night. I climbed down and attempted to
walk into the house. I ran into the door first and then opened it. I looked at
the clock and it was only 7:30. Zoë would wake up soon. Someone tapped me on
the shoulder.
“Holy sh-“ I stopped myself.
“Where were you?” It was Ike.
“You scared the shit out of me!” I
was still overcome with that weird creepy feeling when people scare you.
“Where were you?” He demanded.
“I feel asleep in the tree house last
night.”
“What’s that?” He pointed to the
letter that I had. I could tell something was up with him.
“This.” I pulled out the letter.
“It’s just a letter a fan threw up in our tree house. I tell you, these fans
find ways to get part our alarms and it’s starting to scare me.” I tried to
lighten the mood a little. “Why are you up so early?”
“I couldn’t sleep last night.” He
sat down on the couch. “I had this horrible dream about Lisa and it was so
real. I don’t want her anymore but she seems to be haunting me. I can’t take
it.” He was going psycho.
“It’s just a phase. I’m sure in
the near future you will find a girl that will suit you and you will never have
to think of her again.” For once I was giving him advice.
“Yeah your right.” He sat there for
a minute. “Let’s make breakfast.” That was out of nowhere but hey it would
be fun.
“Sure.” So we headed to the kitchen
for an attempt at making breakfast for everyone.
“What on earth is that smell?” My
mom knew it was us cooking. I thought it smelled good.
“We made waffles for everyone.” Ike
held up the plate. Our family then conjugated around the table. We said our
prayers and then dug in.
“These aren’t half bad.” Avery
inspected the food and then ate some.
“If we’re not dead later.” Jessi
shoved another bite into her mouth.
“From me or from the waffles.” I
smiled.
“Funny.” She rolled her eyes.
She’s had such an attitude lately. It must be a girl thing.
“Well I think they were delicious but
I have to run.” My dad, Walker, just loves to work too much. What ever floats
his boat I guess.
“Well I’ll do the dishes so you two
don’t cause anymore damage.” My mom cleared the table.
“Zac I need to talk to you.” Tay
had such a serious look on his face I almost started laughing. “For real, come
here.” We went into our room. He sat down on my pull-out bed. “Listen,
you’re not allowed to say anything about last night. Not even to Ike.” I
knew he was talking about Jackie.
“Are you two back together?” I gave
him an ‘oh come on’ look.
“Yeah, do you have a problem with
that?” He got all defensive.
“No.” I’ll save myself the
trouble.
“Good cause I love her.” That
stupid smile on his face was going to make me spew. He’s hopeless. I just
rolled my eyes and left the room. I went down to the garage to vent. I was just
banging away on my drums. Nothing was better than just sitting there, not
playing any particular song, just playing. I could just do it all day. Like that
would be possible. I had only been down there a few hours when I was
interrupted.
“Hey little drummer boy. Could you
please pull yourself away from your noise maker and come up stairs?” Jessi,
she’s been so moody. I must of missed something there.
“Only if you could pull that stick
out of your ass first.”
“Just get up stairs.” Bit-chy.
“Okay mom.” I headed up stairs to
see what I was needed for.
“Oh there you are Zac.” Just by the
way my mom said that I knew I wasn’t going to like what was going to happen
next. “I know you wanted to stay here but we had to bump up your recording
time. Your leaving tonight to fly back to L.A.” That was defiantly the last
thing I wanted to hear.
“You can’t do that! We just got
here!” I dared to raise my voice.
“I’m sorry hunny, but that’s what
had to happen.” My mom was trying to comfort me.
“Sorry doesn’t help. I don’t want
to go now.” I had the most evil voice. The look on my mom’s face told me
that.
“Zac, you have no choice in the
matter. You’re going boo hoo. Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over
it.” Tay’s so stupid.
“Oh shut up. You could care less
about me. All you care about it making this stupid CD so you can get back to
Jackie.” Yeah I wasn’t supposed to say anything. It slipped, I swear.
“Jackie?” That caught Ike’s
attention. “I thought you two were done for sure this time?” Tay just glared
at me. I was so sick of him.
“Yeah and you know what? I don’t
feel like going to L.A so you can go without me. I’m sick of this crap.”
Please locate your oxygen masks on the right hand side cause I think the plane
is going down.
“Like hell you are!” Tay was going
to strangle me.
“Watch me.” I was still in control.
“I will kill you!”
“Jordan and Zachary!” My mom only
uses those names for times like these. That didn’t stop Taylor though, he was
pissed beyond pissed.
“I don’t care if you’re missing
your left leg, you will come to L.A and make some damn music.” His voice was
stern. He had me up against the wall by the collar of my shirt. I was actually
scared of him.
“I don’t care if you’re missing
all you brain cells, I don’t have to go if I don’t want to.” I got out of
his grip. Our whole family was watching us.
