Part Six
“Okay, let’s go make some music.”
We went inside. We found the room and Tay had already started. The song he was
playing wasn’t familiar though. I peaked through the window along with Ike.
Tay had sheet music in front of him that was in shitty condition but was still
readable, for him at least. The sound was beautiful but I couldn’t make out
the words he was singing. It sounded something like this:
I wish I could be with you night and
day
Just hug you and hold you close
If it were that way I wouldn’t have
to say I wish I wish I wish
I could be with you
It must have been really personal for
him. “Alright let’s work!” I popped up pretending I just walked in. He
jumped at the sound of my voice. “What shall we start with?”
“Um, let’s work on a new song.”
Tay seemed nervous.
“Well what do ya got?” I pointed to
what he was playing earlier.
“Oh this? This is nothing.” He
fumbled to get the music but the paper spilled all over the floor. I picked up
the first page. The song he wrote was called I Wish. He quickly grabbed it from
me and blushed a little.
“It looks like a song to me.” I
smiled. “Why don’t you play it for us?”
“It’s not ready for you guys
yet.” He took the papers and hid them in the other room.
“Maybe it’s about Jackie.” Ike
looked at me. That could be why he doesn’t want to show us right now. Tay came
back in and sat on the piano bench.
“Okay, I’m ready.” So we got
started. Today was a fun day in the studio. We made 2 new songs and finished
some other ones. So we around 21 songs now, so we have to do a final recording
on them all. So our next few weeks or how ever long we are in the studio will be
recording the songs and picking which ones make the CD. I guess you could say
the fun part is almost over.
“Hey guys, how about we go out for
pizza tonight or something?”
“What?” That shocked me.
“I said how about some pizza
tonight?” I thought Tay was still all mad or whatever so that came as a shock
to me. Ike nudged me so I would come back to reality.
“Oh, sure.” It felt good to have
him smile back at me for once. Yeah usually brothers hate each other, but not
for that long.
“Alright, let’s get going for now
and we can discuss this over dinner.” He was talking about the songs we think
should be on the CD. So we all went out to the car and headed back to our
rent-a-house. As we pulled in the drive way and I saw Randi walking down the
street. Tay had looked back at me and saw me face lighten up at the sight of
her. “Who is that?”
“That’s Randi!” I jumped out of
the car and ran over to her. “Hey!”
“Zac, hi!” She hugged me. “I
haven’t seen you for a few days. Your CD must be coming along pretty well. Oh
my, what happened to your nose?” She just noticed.
“Well it might be a little while
still. We have to pick the songs for the CD now. That’s the part we’re at.
Actually we are going out to dinner to decide what we like tonight. My nose,
that’s a long story.” She smiled. She had one of those smiles that could
melt a guy’s heart. Kinda like the way mine works on girls. Oh yeah.
What are you doing right now?” She
hesitated to say.
“Spending time with you, if that’s
okay?” I don’t know how girls work, but when they just seem to get exited
over the littlest things, it is so cute. She probably is a little over whelmed
because it’s obvious that she is a huge fan of our band and probably was
always like ‘I love them’. Well that’s what I concluded. “Come with me
to got tell my brother’s that I’m leaving.”
“Okay!” I couldn’t help but
laugh.
“Hey guys, I’m going to go out for
a little bit, when should I be back so we can go out to eat?” Ike looked up
from his work, or whatever he was doing. He saw Randi standing there.
“Who’s this?” Ike stood up to
meet her.
“Sorry, this is Randi. I met her when
we got here. Randi Ike, Ike Randi.” She shook his hand. Tay then appeared. He
remembered her from when I first introduced her.
“Hey Randi, how are ya?” Tay gave
her a hug. He’s back to himself again. A girl crazy psycho. He wasn’t about
to take one girl that I have shown intrest in away. He wouldn’t anyway.
“I’m wonderful, how about you?”
“Better.” Why is he such a girl
magnet? Let’s get something straight about Tay. He is the middle child of the
group, not of that family though. Since only three of us are famous he’s
considered the middle. Now most of our girl fans seem to want him, hard-core.
Not that’s bad for him, but I don’t see why he gets most of the attention. I
am far from jealous though. Girls throw themselves at me occasionally. It’s
funny what some people say about him though. He’s so skinny that people call
him anorexic and all that. He’s not but it’s funny how people say stuff even
though it has nothing to do with the music. If I could just get into one our
fan’s heads one day, I’m sure I would find out things I never knew. They
probably know more about us than we do which is quite freaky. You gotta love em.
I know I sure do.
“Oh, was something wrong before?” I
looked at him when she said that. I don’t think we should tell anybody what
happened, or how I broke my nose.
“Nah, I just was having a bad day
before. Anyway, Zac we’ll leave at 6:30 so be home a little before that.”
“Alright. I’ll see ya then.”
“It was nice seeing all of you.”
Randi seemed all star struck. We aren’t that important. We are normal people,
I think.
“What do ya wanna do?” I don’t
really know this place to well so I haven’t found places to go or to hang out,
especially with a girl.
“Well we could go down to the
beach.” She pointed towards the beach area. It was just a few blocks away.
“Alright, that sounds good.” I took
her hand and headed for the beach. It was a perfect afternoon to go strolling on
the beach, as long as no one noticed me. I had my hair tucked up in a baseball
cap so hopefully that will through people off. Randi’s long brown hair was
pulled up in a messy bun. It seemed so perfect though. We walked for about five
or ten minutes and we reached the sand. There were quite a few people here. We
just walked long the beach. We found a spot to sit and enjoy. We were kind of
close to these two girls that were talking. I couldn’t help but listen in.
“Hey Angie, I heard Hanson was in
town already. I wonder where they’re staying?” The girl with the light brown
hair commented. I smirked. If she only knew how close she was.
“Who cares, the Backstreet Boy’s
concert is next week. They are the bomb. Are you still coming with me?” The
girl with the blond hair glanced over at me. I turned away really quickly.
“Of coarse I am, only if you come to
the next Hanson concert with me. Hello, earth to Angie, what are you staring
at?” I think Angie was still starring at me. I didn’t want to look back over
because that would make it to obvious that I was listening to them.
“Sorry but that guy was starring at
us and I think he was listing to us. He looks so familiar though. I just can’t
place his face.”
“Who cares, he looks kinda hot
though.” I chuckled a little. Who ever the girl next to Angie was, is in for a
big surprise.
“I’m sorry, I was listing to you
because I heard you talking about me and my brothers…” You should have seen
the look on this girls face once I turned towards her. She automatically knew
who I was when she saw my face.
“No, you can’t be, I mean, I just,
oh my god.” She was having an aneurysm.
“I’m sorry, I haven’t introduced
myself. I’m Zac. What’s your name?” I shook Angie’s hand, even though I
already knew her name.
“Well I’m Angie and this girl next
to me wants to have millions of your children.” She smirked.
“Really, is that true?” I raised my
eyebrow at her.
