Part Ten

“Guys, I have some news.” I sat down on the love seat. “Dad has been transferred again for his job so the rest of the family is going to Michigan for a while. I don’t know when they are leaving but mom said we could go home and see them before they leave. I say we leave and see them off.”

“When are they leaving?” Tay sat up.

“She didn’t say. But I want to see them before they leave, I know that much.”

“Well when should we go home then?” Ike thought for a minute. “Well I’ll call the airport and book a flight for early tomorrow morning, how does that sound?”

“Good, I’ll call mom back and let her know.” I picked up the phone and dialed our number. “Mom we are going to try and get a flight for tomorrow morning.”

“Alright dear, let me know when you boys need to be picked up.”

“Okay mom, I love you, I’ll call you later.” I gave the phone to Ike so he could call to reserve some tickets. We were going to have to fly home and then fly back and live here for a while. We had to get more stuff than too. I wonder why he got transferred? I would have to tell Randi where I was going so she wouldn’t freak out when I wasn’t home. “I’m going over to Randi’s to tell her, I’ll be back in a while.” I grabbed my camera from my room and went to her house.

“Hey Zac.” She grabbed my belt loop on my jeans.

“Hey babe.” I gave her a little kiss. “I have some news for ya.” She let go and sat down on the swing. She had one on her porch.

“What is it? Nothing bad right?” She had that worried look for a second.

“No nothing bad. I have to go back home for a few days. My dad was transferred to Michigan so we want to see them before they leave. We’ll only be gone for a few days.”

“So then are you going to live here while they’re gone?” She got a smile on her face.

“You know it.” We kissed again.

“This is great news than. Hey what’s the camera for?” She pointed at my camera. It’s brand new too. I just bought it a few weeks ago.

“I don’t have any picture of you or us so I thought we could go take some.” I turned it on. “Lets go on your trampoline and take a few.” So we went back there and goofed off for a while. We did get some good pics though. “Well I better get going. I have some packing to do.”

“I’ll miss you hun.” She slipped her hands around my waist.

“I’ll miss you even more. Don’t worry though; I’ll only be gone for a few days. Then I’m here for a long time.” I kissed her one last time and made my way home. She watched from her porch until I was out of sight. I got home and they already packed most of what they needed.

“Zac, our flight leaves in like 4 hours so you need to pack a.s.a.p.” Tay zipped up his bag. “When you’re done just set it out here with the rest of ours.” He went back to his room for a final check. I made my way through the crap to my room. I opened my closet to get my bag. I had to dig deep to find it. I wonder how all this crap all ready accumulated in there. I packed the necessities: clothes, underwear, well boxers, pillow, music, brain, and my camera. I would develop my pictures when I got home. I put my bag in the living room with Ike and Tay’s.

“I’m done packing. So we can leave when ever.” Ike appeared from the hall.

“Alright, let’s get going then.” We each put our bags in the trunk of our car. Ike drove us to the airport. We just had pointless conversation until we got on the plane. We weren’t flying first class, just coach. As we sat down we heard almost a shriek sound.

“Oh my god.” This girl, looked about 19, came up to us. “You’re Hanson. I thought I noticed you in the airport!” She had the biggest smile on her face. She placed her stuff in the row in front of us.

“Nice to meet you. What’s you name?” Tay shook her hand.

“I’m Stacy.” She had to give Tay a hug. She was about to drop a load I swear. “I can’t believe I finally got to meet you guys. This is like my dream come true. I may be 19 but I am a big fan of your music, and well, you too.” Her smile was from ear to ear. I haven’t seen a fan this happy since Randi. I had to chuckle. You don’t get to many fans like her any more.

“Nice to meet you Stacy.” I gave her a hug too.

“Just out of curiosity where are you guys going?” She twirled her light blond hair on her finger.

“Home.” I smiled. She was a very, well she was one of those drop-dead gorgeous girl. I could tell Tay had already checked her out. I glanced over at Ike. He was eyeing her too.

“Any particular reason?” She looked directly at Tay. She batted her eyes and gave a little smile. Her smiled back.

“Just to visit our family.” Ike chimed in. “Where are you going?” He sat up in his seat.

“My friend lives in Oklahoma so I’m going to visit her.” I zoned out right around there. Her and Ike talked for almost the whole plane ride though. I thought about Randi while I was listing to a Cd she forced me to listen to. She loves Britney Spears so I bought the Cd. Randi is always talking about how Britney is a role model and blah blah blah. I have nothing against Britney, but I just don’t really like her music. Well except for this one song. The one on her second Cd called Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know. It’s a really good song. It’s Randi’s favorite too. I listened to that while the plane took us home. I drifted off to sleep for only a short time when I felt Tay poking me.

“What?” I took off my headphones and looked at him.

“Where did Ike go?” Like I knew. I was only sleeping for the whole time.

“How would I know? I was sleeping?” I rolled my eyes. Then I heard people laughing and one of them sounded like Ike. I sat up and turned around. Him and Stacy we over by a bunch of other people talking and laughing. I saw Ike glance at me. I sat back down. “Ike’s with a bunch of people over there.” I said to Tay as I put my headphones back on. He glanced over there. Then he got up and joined them. I didn’t feel like it so I just stayed put. I put a new Cd in though. I decided on Blink-182’s live Cd. That is one of the funniest Cd’s I have. Tay and Ike don’t really care for it, but that’s because they have bad taste in music. Then I was interrupted again. “What?” I took off my headphones again.

“These people want to meet you.” Tay pointed over to the little crowd that had gathered.

“So what do you want me to do about it?”

“Oh come on over here and at least talk for a minute.” He gave me the ‘please, it’s just for a minute’ look.

“Fine.” I got up and smiled. He looked kinda funny with that face.

“Everyone this is Zac. Zac this is Stacy, Jason, Lauren, Mary, Dan, and Kevin.”

“Nice to meet you all.” I smiled and sat down. “So what are we talking about?” I decided to throw my two cents in.

“Well actually we were just saying how out of hand the pop scene has gotten. Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, Britney, Christina, Jessica, O-Town, Five, Weslife, and the list just goes on and on. Come on, how many different groups can we get?” I believe that was Jason who said that.

“Well I personally like the different variety. You don’t just get one, you get 1 million. It’s all about variety and money.” Stacy was obviously a fan of almost all of those. I wondered why no one said our name. We are a pop group.

“Well we are a pop group.” Tay and Ike looked at me weird.

“Not exactly. We are more pop rock.” Tay thought differently. We have always been pop. Yeah we’ve had rock influence, but that doesn’t make us rock. I still see us as pop though.

“Well whatever. I still like Backstreet and Britney. I have no problem with them.”

“Yeah but they are all over played. Rap is getting old too. We need something new.” Mary pointed out. Which is true. They same stuff is getting old, but I still enjoy it along with millions of others.
