Part Sixteen

The next day in Oklahoma no call had been returned. Taylor couldn’t believe what he did. “Oh no you guys, I am such an idiot. She probably will never call and now I’ll never get her back.”

“I’m so sorry Tay, I didn’t realize that this was that serious. Maybe she will call, I did leave a message on her machine.” Ike felt bad for him. Taylor waited by the phone all day but every call wasn’t for him. She didn’t call that day or for the next two either. Dayna tried to get a hold of her but Mish knew better. She screened her calls just to avoid contact with him. After three days, she was feeling a little bit better though. Mish picked up the phone and her hand was shaking. She wasn’t sure if this was a great idea but she knew that she had to do it. She dialed the number and the phone rang.

“Hello?” Zac’s voice rang in her ear. “Hello? Anyone there?”

          “Hi.” She stopped.

“Oh my god…” She cut him off.

“Don’t say who this is to anyone okay. I will just explain everything to you and then you can pass it on.”

“Who is it Zac?” Taylor was going insane because he had a feeling it was her, but Zac had to lie to him.

          “No one important.”

“Listen, I am coming back down there. I have had time to think things over and I have everything figured out in my head now. So just pick me up at the airport tomorrow and 12:00 okay?” She was very serious sounding.

“We will. Okay bye.” Zac hung up the phone.

“So who was it?” Taylor still wanted to know.

          “It was Mish.”

“How come you didn’t tell me!?” Tay’s eyes were as big as oranges.

“She told me not to and she also said that she is coming back and to pick her up tomorrow at the airport.”

“She is coming back? Finally.” Dayna sounded a little bit agitated. She figured Mish was ready to get back with the group but not with her. Maybe she could put all the other crap behind her. Taylor was going wild because he didn’t know what to do. He kept pacing back and forth and mumbling things to himself. He was very happy that she was coming back so he planned to talk things out and try to hook back up. Ike and Zac were happy she was coming back because Tay was driving them all insane. Plus Zac needed a challenge when he played video games, the others just plain suck. It was time for sleep for them, there was a big day ahead of them, especially Taylor.

Mish was going insane as well. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to do this. She knew she had to though, that was the bad part. She didn’t even sleep all night. She ended up getting dropped off at the airport in the morning. She sure slept on the plane though. She was the last one to get off. The others awaited her arrival and they were nervous because they weren’t sure how her reaction to things were going to be. She walked off the plane. She could see them waiting for her in the distance. She didn’t know if she should hug Taylor or what. She just took a deep breath and proceeded. Zac was the first to see her. He ran up to her and gave her a hug. That made her smile for the first time in a while. She hugged him back and didn’t want to let go. She gave a hug to Ike next. Taylor was waiting there not sure how the feelings were between them. He had the most adorable look on his face though. She went in front of him and looked into his eyes. She gave a little smile and hugged him. She held his hand and they all started to walk back to the car together.

“Well it took you long enough to come back. I was beginning to think you dropped off the face of the earth.” Zac was trying to make things like they used to be.

“Well I could of but that wouldn’t be much fun for me.” Mish seemed to be back to herself again.

“So what did ya do while you were home?” Tay asked.

“Well I slept in my own bed and relaxed. It was like a mini vacation for me. It was just what I needed.” She smiled at him. Taylor wasn’t sure if he should bring up the subject so early but he wanted to know so badly.

“So, are we cool or what happens with us now?”

“Well we are friends right. Since I was rejected that seems to be right for now.” She didn’t care that he asked her but she wasn’t sure if they could get back together yet.

“Well what if I changed my mind? What if I do want to go out with you?” Taylor was trying so hard not to make the words come out wrong. Ike thought that this would set her off, but surprisingly it didn’t.

“Well I can’t change my life every time you change your mind now can I? So lets just be friends and the whole boyfriend girlfriend thing will be set aside for now.” She figured that this was the best for the whole group right now. The fighting had to stop and they needed to get along. Plus she hasn’t gotten on good terms with Dayna yet. “But you guys, where is Dayna?”

Ike looked at Zac and Zac looked at Tay. None of them wanted to tell her. “Well, Dayna decided she was going to go shopping today for a wedding dress.” Ike was kind of upset that Dayna didn’t come with them.

“But that was something we were going to do together! Why did she . . .” Mish’s voice just stopped. She was royally pissed in her head. She didn’t need to start any more fights so she just stopped herself before she said anything else.

“I know where she is if you want to see her. She’s at Alvin’s Bridal Shop. I’m sure if you don’t have any hard feelings towards her she won’t have any towards you. Plus Mom is there so nothing could really happen.” Taylor added.

“Yea, I’d love to see her and help her pick out her dress.” Mish was trying to be enthusiastic.

“I want to see what she picks out anyways.” Ike was really excited about his up coming marriage.

“I don’t think so Ike, You can’t see her in her wedding dress before you get married!” Mish and Taylor said in unison.

Everyone was giggling when they pulled up to the bridal shop. All four walked in together. As they walked through the door the four were amazed at how beautiful Dayna looked in the dress she had on. Of course the first words Mish heard come from Dayna’s mouth were, “Mom, does this dress make me look fat?”

“Of course.” Mish answered before Diana had a chance.

“Michelle.” Dayna spun around; the dress was swooshing around her ankles as she turned. Dayna’s face was grave, but her eyes were shocked.

          “Hi.” Mish was being polite.

Dayna faced the mirrors again, “Ike get out, and you’re not supposed to see me in my dress until the wedding. Although I don’t think I am going to get this one, I don’t like the skirt. What do you think?” Mish knew she was talking to her.

The guys and Diana left the two friends so they could talk things over. “Well, what do you think?” Mish was asking her in a serious tone.

“I told you what I thought, I look fat.” She was avoiding the subject.

“Not what I was talking about.”

“I know. What do you want me to say? I have nothing to say about what happened.” Dayna was stating the truth; she didn’t have anything to say about what happened, it happened nothing could change.

“Well, I like the dress, but you’re right it doesn’t look that great on you.” Mish was sort of upset that Dayna wasn’t going to apologize. But she knew Dayna’s motto, No regrets!

“ You have to see the one I am going to buy, but I want your approval first.” Dayna said plainly.

“Well, get your ass changed and lets go. We have to drop the guys off first.” Mish was happy again; she knew that this was Dayna’s way of saying everything is cool between them.

“Alright, but let’s bring Zac, I trust his opinion on clothes.” Plus this way if things go sour between us there will be somebody there to separate us.

“Okay! Zac get your tush in here!” Mish was hollering for him.

“What do you want?” Zac was a little upset that he was being dragged away from the guys and into a dressing room.

“Zac, you’re coming with us. We are going dress shopping!” Dayna told him.

“Do I get a choice?” Zac really didn’t want to go with them.

“Nope, you’re going.” Mish grabbed his wrist and made him sit down in a chair.

“I’ll tell the guys that you’re going with us. I have to say good bye to Ike anyways.” Dayna left the room, still in the wedding dress.

“Well, how’d all go?” Zac inquired.

“Okay, I guess.” Mish turned towards the mirror.  “The only reason why you’re coming along is because she needs someone around, in case we get into another fight. It’s too early for us to be alone. Ike and Taylor are busy today. So you were the only one. It was you or Tay, hun!”

“Why not Ike?”

“Duh, he is the groom, he can’t see her in her wedding dress until the day of the wedding.” Mish said.

“Oh yea. It doesn’t seem real that they are getting married. I mean I always thought that Ike would always be with the band. But he might not be anymore.”

“What do you mean Zac?” Mish sounded worried.

“Ike is talking about leaving the band after they have kids. He said it was best for Dayna and him.” Zac seemed depressed about it.

“Yea, like that’ll happen. Dayna doesn’t want kids!”

“Really? Well that kinda sucks for Ike then. He wants kids. He loves them.” Zac was using some really flat tones.

“But who knows what is going on in Dayna’s head. She might have changed her mind by now.” Mish was hoping she did. She wanted their marriage to last. She really wanted both of them to be happy.

The next few months were pretty much just normal. The guys were writing songs and things but the new album wasn’t going to come out for a while. It was getting close to February and that meant something special in the Hanson household. Ike and Dayna were planning to get married. All hell had broken loose once again. Dayna had a huge wedding planned so everything could be perfect. Tay and Mish were still just friends, which Taylor really didn’t want. He wanted to hold her and kiss her but that was lost. Zac was just single. Audrey had gone back home for the summer so he just was there. He still couldn’t beat Mish at the video games so he was trying to get better at that. Dayna was a wreck though. This wedding was going to take a lot of work on her part. Mish had to take care of the bachelorette party, which she already had planned and figured out. This wedding Dayna had planned already since she was younger. It was her dream and perfect wedding. So all she had to do was find the right things. Now that was a bitch to do. It was going to cost so much but it was going to be worth it in the end.

She picked, with Mish’s help, everything out, no matter how expensive. It was her wedding and it was to be the best in the world. She had it in a huge stone church, the best in the world. She had the whole thing decorated with red and white flowers. Her bouquet of flowers was even prettier. They were white Lilacs, Lily’s, and sweetheart Roses. It was the most beautiful bouquet of flowers that anyone has ever seen. The inside of the church had those type of flowers decorated all over as well. Her brides maids carried smaller versions of her bouquet. Mish of course was the maid of honor. Then there were a bunch of brides maids. All of their dresses were burgundy. Mish’s was hunter green and the prettiest of them all. Other than Dayna’s of course. Dayna’s dress was beautiful. It was a bright white. The top of it had a very low-neck line with and open back. It was embroidered with sparkling beads. It came to a V at the skirt part. Her skirt was a very long flowing piece. It had some embroidering on it too, but not that much. Her train was as long as hell. It snapped in the back so she could take it off easily. It had beads on it too and it was so beautiful. The brides maids dresses had a square neck line with a slit way up the side of the dress. Mish’s was the only different one because she was special. The guys just wore tuxes. Black one’s of course. Tay was the best man, so that meant he had to walk down the isle with Mish. Anyway, Ike had to give Dayna a ring and damn was that a ring. It was a white gold with a sapphire stone with little diamonds around it. It was beautiful. Dayna got Ike a white gold ring that had a little diamond in it. There was a hell of a lot of people at this wedding. Everyone wanted to be there. This was a huge event. The wedding went really well. Everyone got down the isle and both Ike and Dayna said, “I do”. Everything went smoothly.

After the ceremony was the reception. There was a live band and a Dj. The food was wonderful. There was chicken with a salad and steak, Dayna had always hated spaghetti and vowed that she would never have it at her wedding. The cake was even more spectacular than the food. It was huge. There were fountains under it with separate cakes around it. They had bridesmaids leading to the main one with all the bridesmaids and the guys leading up to the top where the bride and groom stood. The cake was really good too. There was an open bar for the older folks that were allowed to drink, but that doesn’t mean that none was snuck to the kiddies.

“Congratulations to ya both. It nice to see ya finally tied the knot.” Mish was a little overly hyper. She was out on the dance floor tearing it up. Dayna had to join her of course. She took off her train and got down with her bad self. The guys were going to play at the wedding so they were getting set up. Dayna wanted them to play With You IN Your Dreams because she was in love with this song. The Dj stopped and then that song played. Dayna was ecstatic. Ike left the stage and came down to dance with Dayna. She loved it. The song ended and the Dj started up again and Dayna refused to let Ike go back. He was stuck out there on the dance floor with Dayna and no lifeline to save him. Tay finally saved Ike he called the guys over to the corner to talk to them so everyone else just got on the floor and boogied. Then the music stopped...

“What the hell just happened?!” Dayna screamed. Just then the guys started to play I Will Come To You.

“This song I dedicate to Michelle.” Tay said. He went through the crowd and found Mish and sang the whole song to her. It ended.

“I love you, Mish.” Tay smiled at her.

“I love you too, Tay.” Mish kissed him like she never has before. Everyone clapped and Dayna was so happy for them. They finally got back together. The rest of the night was full of dancing, singing, and having the best time in the world. Everyone didn’t leave until 5 in the morning.

“Dayna, that was the best night ever. We so have to do that again.” Mish was a little tipsy because she snuck herself a little bit of alcoholic beverages while no one was looking.

“Chica, you drunk ain’t you?” Dayna was laughing.

“No, I just have a good buzz going.” They all left for home and Dayna and Ike went off the Virgin Islands for their honeymoon.

After all the commotion was over, the rest of the gang went home. They all seemed happy enough. Audrey went back home because she was homesick. Her and Zac were just friends. Tay and Mish were together again. They had fallen back in love and were happy once again. All of them were going back to Oklahoma and would let things get back to normal.

That is the end of part one. We have a finished part II but it still needs revising and correcting. Enjoy this one for now, I'll see what I can do about getting the next part up.
